Rule Change for Football and Presidents

The new rule change for football, if instituted, will  be monumental.  It really is going to change the game, there is simply no doubt about it.  This is especially true in the end game when there is little time on the clock and the score is close.

Under the old rules a touchdown always counted 6 points regardless of which team made the touchdown and regarless of when the touchdown was scored, be it the first, last, or any play in between.

But the new rule is that if Team A has more fans than Team B, and Team A has a chance to win a historic game in the last 5 minutes of play, then any touchdown they make will count as many points as necessary to ensure they are in fact named the winner of the game.

Notice the key points in this:

  • Must have the most fans

  • Must be a historic game for some reason

  • Must be in the final part of the game for the rule to apply

This rule change is being instituted in the best interest of football and to promote basic fairness.

Looks like we are going to have the same rule for Presidents.  Since Obama has refused to comply with a Supreme Court order to produce a certified birth certificate confirming he is a natural born citizen, as per the Constitution, perhaps the rules will simply be changed, i.e., the law ignored.  Why?

  • Obama had the most votes.

  • It is considered a historic election because he has dark skin

  • He has played well enough to be in the final part of the election process.  The final part is when the electors actually cast their vote.

Ignoring the law will be in the best interest of the country and will promote basic fairness we're told.... wouldn't want to upset the "fans" now would we?

Having lived in Russia five years, I have observed that the USA is about 50 years behind Russia. America is walking (Republicans) or running (Democrats) toward the socialism from which Russia was, before Putin, emerging.

The Russian mindset does not consider law to be solid, firmly enforceable. Instead, law may be flexible, depending on the disposition of the bureaucrat. (Hence, the prevalence of the bribe, to change the bureaucrat's mind.)

So, following the Russian lead, law, regarding eligibility for President, is subject to the whim of the bureaucrat, or the direction of the political winds.

Next step, watch for more open political bribery that becomes an acceptable norm.
